Cannabis Cowboy is looking for Store Managers to lead our retail operations across multiple locations in Canada. Each Store Manager will be the Sheriff in our operation’s chain of command, responsible for the growth and development of our shift leaders and front-line staff. The Store Manager oversees the entire operation, sets the company’s strategy, and is ultimately responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. He or she requires a clear vision of success, growth and company core values with an exceptional ability to inspire the same in each staff member to ensure Cannabis Cowboy’s success within the retail cannabis frontier. Each successful candidate will be responsible for leading one retail operation, measuring store performance, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining compliance at all times.

As the face of Cannabis Cowboy, you are a trailblazer helping to drive this new lifestyle brand. Each Store Manager must interface with other managers, staff, law enforcement, vendors, owners, and landlords. He or she must provide leadership and oversight to all departments, employees, and operations. Each Store Manager will work with ownership to generate a strategy for business growth and establish key performance indicators to monitor company progress. The Store Manager is also responsible for keeping up with all changes in local, provincial, and federal laws regarding cannabis retail and ensuring employees operate compliantly at all times. Qualified candidates must possess management experience, with retail management experience as an asset.


  • Create and execute a strategy designed to grow the retail operation

  • Coordinate the development of key performance indicators and tactical programs to pursue targeted goals and objectives

  • Deliver a welcoming, educational, and exceptional customer experience through sales

  • Provide leadership at all levels of the organization and assist team members with daily operations

  • Oversee product procurement and ensure compliance with inventory handling policies and audits

  • Evaluate and decide upon key investments in equipment and hiring of staff

  • Manage store inventory, financial records, and compliance reporting

  • Oversee store’s compliance with all applicable local, provincial, and federal laws and regulations pertaining to cannabis retail stores

  • Establish sales, service, and profit milestones, and lead staff to exceed them

  • Communicate and embody the company vision and values

  • Define and implement policies and performance standards for managers and front-line staff

  • Allocate and manage budget resources for supplies, equipment, marketing, and personnel

  • Guide customers in their cannabis purchasing journey by properly addressing questions and concerns


  • Three to five years’ management experience, retail management experience is an asset

  • Beginner to intermediate knowledge in cannabis (flower) and non-cannabis products is an asset

  • Proficient with basic software (i.e. Microsoft Office, POS)

  • Experience with sales and point of sale (POS) operations

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and with a team

  • Self-driven and hard working

  • Minimum 18 years of age

  • Must possess valid driver’s license or government issued ID

  • Must pass any and all required background checks

  • Must possess current SellSafe license and completed AGLC Cannabis Worker Form
